Orange City, Iowa — Eric Heibult of Sheldon has signed a letter of intent to continue his cross country and track and field career at Northwestern College next fall.
Heibult is a 6’1” distance runner who has competed in both cross country and track and field for Sheldon High School. A two-time state qualifier in cross country, Heibult finished fifth at state last fall and has a personal best time of 15:35 in the 5K. He earned all-conference two years, both as a junior and senior. In track, Heibult qualified for state as both as a sophomore and junior, finishing third as a member of the 4×800 relay last spring. Heibult was named both the Siouxland Athlete of the Week and Northwest Iowa Review Athlete of the Week and has personal best times of 4:48 in the mile and 10:30 in the 3200m. Heibult plans to major in Athletic Training at Northwestern and is the son of Doug and Deb.
