Ames, Iowa — Iowa athletic director Gary Barta says he has talked with Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard about the Big Ten alliance with the ACC and PAC 12 and how that could effect the future of the Cy-Hawk Series.
The Hawkeyes and Cyclones are signed to play through the 2025 season.
Barta says there is no reason to make a decision on the future of the series right now.
The Alliance between the ACC, PAC-12 and Big Ten could mean eight Big Ten games plus two games against the other two leagues. That would leave the other two nonconference games as question marks.
Barta encourages fans to get vaccinated but is not making it mandatory to enter Kinnick Stadium.
Barta says there will also be no mask mandate for Saturday’s game.
