Iowa Football Set For First Scrimmage

The clock is ticking for the Iowa Hawkeyes who open a revived Big Ten football season in two weeks at Purdue.

The Hawkeyes have been in pads for a little more than a week and will conduct their first scrimmage this weekend.

That’s Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz. For a program that banks on strong defense and limiting turnovers reduced practice time and reduced contact is a concern.

Ferentz says every team is dealing with a lot of unknowns this season.
