Sheldon Iowa — Baseball and softball practice opened state wide in Iowa on Monday June 1st. We had a chance to talk about it with Sheldon Activities Director Eric Maassen.
Maassen said the first day of practice went well.
With some uncertainty about weather there would be a season and then a short time to get the programs up and running the numbers at Sheldon for both sports have been good.
The two week period of preparation before the first games will cover a lot of areas including conditioning, administrative and facilities.
Another part of the two week period is a time to develop new habits.
Maassen also told KIWA Sports what the baseball and softball experience will be like for the fans.
Sheldon will open the softball season at home against George Little Rock Central Lyon on Monday June 15th. The baseball team will open the season at home on Friday the 19th against West Lyon.
