Iowa Receiver Focused On Wins Not Numbers

Iowa City, Iowa — Iowa receiver Tyrone Tracy says he is more concerned about winning than his individual numbers.

Tracy had 36 catches for 589 yards and three touchdowns as a redshirt freshman in 2019. Those numbers dropped during a COVID shortened 2020 campaign to 14 catches for 154 yards.

As he prepares for his junior season Tracy is the leader of a receiving group that lost Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Brandon Smith off last year’s team.

Tracy admits he was frustrated last season when the ball was not coming his way.

Hawkeye receiver coach Kelton Copeland says Tracy’s strength is his versatility. He can play any of the four receiver spots.

Copeland says Tracy has stepped up as a leader.

The Hawkeyes open next season at home against Indiana on September fourth.
