Iowa State Beats South Dakota State In NCAA Tournament

Iowa State used a 12-0 run early in the second half to take command in an 82-65 win over South Dakota State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Omaha.

That’s ISU coach T.J. Otzelberger who beat the school he served as head coach for three years.

Freshman Milan Momcilovic (mom-chee-loh-vich) led the way with 19 points as the Cyclones made 11-of-23 from three point range.

The game was played in front of a partisan Cyclone crowd in the CHI Health Center Arena.

Marshalltown native Luke Appel had nine points and seven rebounds for the Jackrabbits, who finish with a record of 22-13.
