A quick start helped the Iowa Hawkeye women steal a road win at Minnesota. The Hawkeyes outscored the Gophers 18-7 in the opening quarter and they held on for a 68-60 victory. It capped a weather plagued trip that did not see the Hawkeyes land in the Twin Cities until Thursday afternoon.
That’s Iowa coach Jan Jensen who lauded the play of her veterans for making plays down the stretch. Junior forward Hannah Stuelke led the way with 17 points and senior guard Sydney Affolter had 13 points and added 14 rebounds as the Hawkeyes evened their Big Ten record at 6-6.
