Iowa’s wrestlers return to the mat on Sunday in the new Coralville Arena when the Hawkeye Wrestling Club Showdown Open features 17 matches and all will be freestyle.
The Hawkeyes won the Big Ten title last season but the NCAA Championships were cancelled days before they were to start and Iowa was heavily favored. Hawkeye coach Tom Brands says his wrestlers are ready.
