Iowa City, Iowa – Iowa coach Fran McCaffery is looking for answers on defense as the Hawkeyes get ready to host Minnesota on Tuesday night.
The Hawkeyes were blown out twice in Los Angeles last week and gave up 94 points in a loss to UCLA and 99 in a loss to USC.
Iowa has struggled with ball screen defense, especially on the road.
McCaffery is not concerned about a lack of confidence. The Hawkeyes are 3-4 in the Big Ten after the trip west.
The Gophers are 1-6 in the Big Ten, but they are coming off a 64-61 win at the buzzer over 21st-ranked Michigan.
McCaffery on the concerns the Gophers cause.
At the time of this article, McCaffery was not sure senior forward Payton Sandfort would play Tuesday night. He injured a shoulder early in the loss at UCLA and did not return.
