Iowa City, Iowa — Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell has been named the Bronco Nagurski National Player of the Week.
Campbell had 18 tackles and recovered a fumble in the fifth ranked Hawkeyes’ 24-14 win over Colorado State. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz.
Ferentz says Campbell combines unusual size for a middle linebacker with a tremendous work ethic.
The 4-0 Hawkeyes have a short week to prepare for a Friday night visit to a Maryland team that is also 4-0.
The Hawkeyes have won their first four games despite ranking last in the Big Ten in offense.
Ferentz says the win at Iowa State was good preparation for what the Hawkeyes will face Friday night.
