Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz says quarterback Mark Gronowski will not take part in spring drills but is set to begin throwing. Gronowski transferred to Iowa after a standout career at South Dakota State and underwent surgery on his throwing shoulder.
Ferentz on not having Gronowski this spring.
Gronowski is part of a quarterback room that includes Brendan Sullivan, Jackson Stratton and Auburn transfer Hank Brown.
Ferentz likes the depth at quarterback heading into next season.
The Hawkeyes finished 8-5 last season which included a loss to Missouri in the Music City Bowl.
