They were hammering the yellow bass on East Lake Okoboji Sunday when one of the fishermen got a snag.
While deciding what to do the “snag” started moving. Twenty minutes later the “snag” surfaced. The “snag” actually was a male Muskie which measured 54 7/8 and was estimated to weigh about 35 lbs. What makes this “fish story” out of ordinary was that Jay Whitcanack of Sheldon caught this large predator fish with a Pilkie on 4 lb test line.
