Jirehl Brock Steps In At Running Back For Iowa State

With Breece Hall preparing for the NFL Draft redshirt junior Jirehl Brock has stepped in at running back for Iowa State.

The native of Quincy, Illinois played behind Hall the last couple of seasons but with Hall opting out of a Cheez-It Bowl loss to Clemson Brock had 42 yards of rushing and 21 receiving. He has also taken on a leadership role.

That’s Cyclone offensive coordinator Tom Manning who says Brock has always displayed the traits of a leader.

Brock says he has worked at adding speed and weight this offseason.

The Cyclones will have an open practice at Gilbert High School on Friday beginning at 5:00pm.
