Des Moines, Iowa — The Northwestern College men’s track and field team competed in its first outdoor meet of the 2021 season, the Grand View Invite, held this weekend in Des Moines, Iowa. Two Raiders, Dylan Hendricks and Lorenzo Jones, claimed individual titles and Head Coach Scott Bahrke’s squad turned a total of 27 top 10 finishes.
Hendricks cruised to the 10K title, crossing the finish line in a time of 31:45, over one minute faster than his teammate, Nick Bernhagen, who finished second with a time of 32:57.
Jones secured the championship with his second of six attempts in the triple jump, leaping 14.12m (46’4″), nearly two inches farther than the second place competitior.
Cody Post placed in the top 10 in both the 100m (7th) and 200m (5th) while Bryce Paulsen finished third in the 400m hurdles (56.25).
James Gilbert Jr. was fourth in the long jump (6.79m) and both Aaron Shepard and Ben Thelander tied for fifth in the high jump.
