Lane Kamerman (Sioux Center, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football and baseball careers at Northwestern College in the fall.
Kamerman is a 5’10”, 170-pound wide receiver / defensive back who played three years for Sioux Center High School. Kamerman accounted for 228 yards and three touchdowns on offense in leading the Warriors to the second round of the state playoff and 6-3 record. He totaled 18 tackles, 1.5 quarterback sacks and seized one interception for the Warriors defense.
“Lane is a versatile football player who can excel at a number of different positions on the field,” said Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. “He is a good athlete who has been coached well at Sioux Center. We look forward to the contributions that Lane will make on our football team over the next four years.”
Also a three-year letter winner for the Warriors baseball team heading into his final season this summer, Kamerman hit .375 with 10 RBIs in a 2020 season shortened due to CoVID. He was unbeaten on the mound, posting a 5-0 record with a 0.96 earned run average and 41 strikeouts in 41 innings. Kamerman is a two-time all-conference pick and is a member of both the honor roll and National Honor Society at Sioux Center. He is the son of Brandon and Erica.
“Lane is a great addition to our program,” stated Northwestern Head Coach Brian Wede. “He has experience playing at a number of different positions. Lane is a very talented athlete who will improve quickly once he starts putting more attention to baseball. He comes from a family with Northwestern history and will fit into our campus very well.”
“I chose Northwestern because of the quality of athletic and academic programs,” commented Kamerman. “I really enjoyed my visits and felt like the coaches took an interest in me, not just as an athlete but also as a student.”
