Kieft Signs Contract With Bucs (Update)

Tampa – The Buccaneers are making progress toward signing their entire 2022 draft class.

The team announced the signing of three more draft picks. Fifth-round cornerback Zyon McCollum, sixth-round tight end Ko Kieft, and seventh-round linebacker Andre Anthony agreed to four-year deals with the team.

If Kieft secures a roster spot he could help the Buccaneers with his blocking in two-tight end packages.

According to reports, the contract is for 4 years, worth $3.79 million, with over $132,000 guaranteed, and a $33,000 signing bonus.

In the NFL Draft last month, the Bucs traded 2022 seventh-round picks 235 and 261 to the Los Angeles Rams to draft Kieft in the 6th round. The 6-5, 265 pound tight end started all 13 games in his final season with Minnesota.

He says he hopes to bring the physical style he played with at Minnesota to the Buccaneers.

He says he’s excited to work with the other tight ends on Tampa’s roster.

Kieft said it hasn’t really hit yet that he might be playing with Tom Brady.

The former Sioux Center Warrior caught seven passes for 101 yards and one touchdown in his senior year for the Gophers. Kieft was widely considered the best blocking tight end in the Big Ten.
