KIWA Sports is back with their final predictions of the year! Hopefully it isn’t your first time here, but if it is, here is what is going on:
Sam, Nate, Katie, and Anna — well, now just Nate and Anna — send out their individual game picks for the week. They are trying to predict the obvious favorites as well as chaotic upsets for ultimate bragging rights here at KIWA.
Round One of the KIWA Picks Playoff consisted of six wildcard matchups from January 10 to January 12 (one point each), as well as the following Divisional Matchups on January 17 and 18 (two points each).

Round One Recap
| # | Semifinal #1 | Pts. | Diff. | # | Semifinal #2 | Pts. | Diff. | |
| 1 | Nate Broek | 11 | 90 | T2 | Anna Stallman | 11 | 92 | |
| 4 | Katie Loger | 5 | -50 | T2 | Sam Heyn | 8 | 58 |
In our first semifinal was #1 seed Nate facing off against #4 seed Katie. In the first week, Katie held up her end, managing to tie Nate in points on the week. However, the Patriots over the Chargers would be her final correct selection this year, as she struggled to find a single win in the second week of Round One. Nate on the flipside went three for four in the second week of Round One, solidifying his bid to the KIWA Picks Championship.
Squaring off for the other spot in our championship was Sam and Anna, who both came out of the regular season at 85-52 and tied for second place. Both players did well, but it was Anna who had a more impressive round, going five for six in the first week and then three for four in the second week, hitting 80% accuracy on the Round. With her performance, she receives the second bid of our KIWA Picks Championship and will face Nate for all the marbles.

Round Two
Now we’re on to Round Two, which will consist of only three games: the NFC and AFC Championship (1/25), each worth three points, as well as the Super Bowl (2/8), worth four points, for a full potential of 10 points. Due to the limited number of games remaining, both players will also predict the final score alongside each selection.
If there is a tie in points at the end of the championship, the final score prediction will serve as the ultimate tiebreaker. Hence, the following equation will be applied to each of the three remaining matchups, and whoever has the least total error combined will be awarded the championship:
Game Error = | Team 1 Actual Score – Team 1 Predicted Score | + | Team 2 Actual Score – Team 2 Predicted Score |
If a tie still remains after the equation has been fully executed for both players, the championship results in a tie.
