Kati Kneifl, a junior from Sheldon, Iowa, placed second in the women’s javelin with a school-record breaking performance in Thursday’s action at the 2018 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Kneifl, this year’s Drake Relays champion with a school-record distance of 152-2, set a school record with a distance of 153-8 on her final attempt of the competition. Bailey Dell of Northwest Christian University, the NAIA national leader in the regular season and last year’s national runner-up, finished first with a distance of 155-7.
Kneifl earned NAIA All-America honors with her second place finish.
