Kneifl Sets Meet Record, Qualifies For Nationals

Storm Lake, Iowa — Kati Kneifl served notice at Buena Vista on Saturday, March 30.

Her message was simple at Buena Vista University’s spring invitational. She wants to get back to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ Championships.

The Sheldon, Iowa, native got her final collegiate season off to a flying start on the banks of Storm Lake. The 2018 national runner-up launched a 134-foot, 10-inch toss, setting a meet record and the fifth-longest mark in the nation to best the field by more than 19 feet in the javelin.

Kneifl’s event title was one of five top spots for head coach Dave Nash’s women’s team.
