Boston, Massachusetts — Sheldon native, and three-time Olympian, A.G. Kruger won his 9th Indoor National Title in the Weight Throw Sunday. The 36-year old Kruger threw for 23.41 meters, edging 2nd place finisher James Lambert, who threw for 23.35 meters.
Kruger has also won five outdoor hammer throw national titles, and won his first indoor weight throw in 2003. He has a total of nine titles, putting him now thrid, all-time, behind 12 for Lance Deal, and 10 for Henry Dreyer.
Kruger trains at Ashland University in Ohio under Jud Logan, who is a four-time champion in the event, and a four-time Olympian.
Kruger, who also has five outdoor hammer throw national titles, won his first indoor weight throw in 2003. His nine titles are now third all-time behind Lance Deal’s 12 and Henry Dreyer’s 10.
