Rock Rapids, Iowa — The Central Lyon Lions topped the Siouxland Christian Eagles in a Class 1A District 1 play-in game Monday night in Rock Rapids. The Lions took the contest 81-46.

Central Lyon started the contest with two different 7-0 runs, and after the first the Lions led 22-9. Six different Lions scored in the opening quarter. Heading into the break, Central Lyon led 40-23. Jay Wagmeester had eleven first half points while Zed Heimensen added another ten for the Lions. After three, Central Lyon extended the lead to twenty at 56-36. The Lions then went on to the convincing 81-46 win.
Central Lyon had three players in double figures. The Lions were led by Heimensen with a game high twenty-five points. Wagmeester added thirteen, while Addison Metzger put in eleven. Siouxland Christian was led by Christian Heilbuth with a team high seventeen points and Jeremy Seibert added thirteen.
With the win, Central Lyon improves to 2-20 on the year. The Lions will play George-Little Rock at George on Thursday, February 15th. Siouxland Christian ends their year at 1-21.
