Martin To Play Volleyball at NWC

Northwestern College logoOrange City, Iowa — Sydney Martin has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College next fall.

Martin is a 5’4” libero/outside hitter who played four years for West Lyon High School. Martin totaled 152 kills (2.1 per set), 186 digs (2.6) and 41 ace serves in leading her team to the substate finals with a 16-9 overall record. Martin earned first team all-conference honors as a senior and honorable mention as junior. She was named the team’s most valuable player and also received the team’s hustle award three times. A member of the National Honor Society and an academic all-conference selection, Martin is the daughter of Todd and Sandy.

“Sydney is a great addition to our backrow,” commented head Northwestern volleyball coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “She is a quick athlete and who has her best volleyball still ahead of her. We are excited that Sydney will be continuing her education and volleyball career here at Northwestern College.”
