Morningside And Grand View Collide In NAIA Championship Saturday night

Durham, North Carolina — It will be Morningside against Grand View in the NAIA Football Championship Game in Durham, North Carolina, Saturday night.

Morningside is in search of its third crown in four years while Grand View is making its first appearance in the title game since winning it all in 2013.

That’s Morningside coach Steve Ryan. This game will pit a Mustang offense that averages nearly 57 points per game against a Grand View defense that gives up less than 12 points per contest.

Ryan is not sure how much of an advantage championship game experience will be.

Ryan says championship games are unique in part because of television coverage.

Grand View coach Joe Woodley says the extra week of preparation has been good.

Woodley says the key will be slowing down the Morningside offense.

Woodley says Morningside’s title game experience is a concern.

Woodley says television timeouts and replay reviews will be a unique experience.
