Morningside Returns From Layoff To Host Briar cliff

Top ranked Morningside returns from a lengthy break to host city rival Briar Cliff on Saturday.

The Mustangs had a schedule bye week before last week’s game against Hastings was postponed and moved to late November. They have not played since a September 19th win over Midland of Nebraska.

That is Morningside coach Steve Ryan who says they used the extra time off to focus on fundamentals.

Senior receiver Reid Jurgensmeier has put up big numbers in two games. The Nebraska native has 19 catches, including seven for touchdowns.

Briar Cliff is 0-3 but Ryan says the Chargers will challenge the Morningside offense.
