Sioux City, Iowa – TSioux City, Iowa – Morningside College was represented on the Great Plains Athletic Conference’s Player of the Week awards for March 22-28. The honors were released March 30-31.
Senior women’s track and field athlete Payton Boer (Sioux Center, Iowa) was tabbed women’s Track Athlete of the Week. In her first collegiate outdoor competition, she ran the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ second-fastest time in NAIA in the 3000-meter steeplechase for this early season. Her winning clocking of 11:52.8 at the Grand View Viking Relays defeated the field by better than 34 seconds.
