NCC Academic All-Region Sports honors announced

Sheldon, Iowa – The Academic All-Region lists for the Fall 2025 semester were announced Thursday by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), recognizing student-athletes for excellence in the classroom.

The start of the new year marks a time of recognition for academic accomplishments across Region 11. After the first semester, more than 2,700 student-athletes were honored for their academic achievements this season. Over 1,700 earned First Team All-Academic recognition, while nearly 1,000 were named to the Second Team.

Student-athletes from Northwest Iowa Community College were recognized across men’s and women’s soccer and sports shooting.

Region 11 Academic All-Region Qualifications

  • Every sport is recognized each semester
  • First Team: 3.5–4.0 GPA
  • Second Team: 3.0–3.49 GPA
  • Minimum NJCAA-required credit hours
  • GPA based on cumulative or semester GPA, whichever is higher

  • Anthony Gakana (Paris, France) – First Team
  • Carson Gibson (Polk City, Iowa) – First Team
  • Dylan Ayers (Bullard, Texas) – First Team
  • Ian Troncoso (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) – First Team
  • Ignacio Morales (Valladolid, Spain) – First Team
  • Warren Traina (Brest, France) – First Team
  • Edwin Santiago Silva Jimenez (Bogotá, Colombia) – Second Team
  • Josh Vargas (Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico) – Second Team

Women’s Soccer

  • Alexis Hernandez (Missouri Valley, Iowa) – First Team
  • Bailey Koyle (Honey Creek, Iowa) – First Team
  • Bryanna Garcia (Sioux Center, Iowa) – First Team
  • Kayla Anderson (Harlan, Iowa) – First Team
  • Valery Nuno (Hospers, Iowa) – First Team
  • Ana Reyna Yoc (Orange City, Iowa) – Second Team

Sports Shooting

  • Blake Van Roekel (Alvord, Iowa) – First Team
