NCC Sports Shooting Team Tops Iowa Lakes

The NCC Thunder Sports Shooting Team participated in a triangular competition on Saturday, October 2 with Hawkeye Community College and Iowa Lakes Community College in their second conference meet of the 2021-2022 Sports Shooting competition season.

NCC lost to the Hawkeye Red Tails Sports Shooting 486 to 492, but beat Iowa Lakes 486 to 464 at Stockdale Gun Club in Ackley, IA. Head Coach Brian Lauck competed against his son, Iowa Lakes student-athlete Josh Lauck.
NCC student-athletes Sebastian Brock, Levi Hemmelrick and Alex Wilson shot well, only missing 2 clays. Levi shot three 25s in a row.

The top 5 scores for NCC student-athletes were:
1. Sebastian Brock – 98
2. Levi Hemmelrick – 98
3. Alex Wilson – 98
4. Calob Prange – 97
5. Matthew Zieser – 95

Coach Brian Lauck said, “It was a beautiful day to be at the range. All the athletes were excited to have a triangular and shot well. This was a great opportunity for the new athletes to get a feel for college shooting competitions.”
