Northwest Iowa Community College’s Thunder Soccer teams traveled to Mason City on Tuesday, September 24, to take on North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC). Despite strong first-half play and multiple scoring opportunities, both the women’s and men’s squads came up short against tough NIACC teams.
Women’s Soccer: NCC falls 4–0 to NIACC
The Thunder controlled much of the first half but couldn’t convert scoring chances. The second half went back and forth before NIACC netted several goals. A tough finish left several NCC players dealing with late-game knocks as the final whistle blew.
Men’s Soccer: NCC drops 2–0 match to No. 15 NIACC
Facing a nationally ranked opponent, the Thunder battled hard throughout. NIACC scored twice late in the first half, but NCC matched their intensity in the second, creating several scoring opportunities without finding the back of the net.
