Sheldon, Iowa – Northwest Iowa Community College’s Thunder Soccer teams traveled to Mason City Wednesday, September 24th, to take on North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC). Despite a strong first half and multiple scoring opportunities, both the womens’ and mens’ squads came up short.
Women’s Soccer: NCC fell 4–0 to NIACC
The Thunder women controlled much of the first half, but couldn’t convert scoring chances. The second half went back and forth, before NIACC netted the four goals to win it.
Men’s Soccer: NCC fell 2–0 to No. 15 NIACC
Facing a nationally ranked opponent, the Thunder kept the game close, but ultimately fell short. NIACC scored its two goals late in the first half. NCC created several scoring opportunities in the final minutes, but failed to find the back of the net.
