Hull, Iowa — It was a tale of two halves as the Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley Nighthawks topped the Sioux Center Warriors 27-6 at A.R. Hesla Field in Hull Friday night.
Neither team’s defense would relent in the first quarter, but the Nighthawks were able to break the drought in the second quarter. Tanner Te Slaa found Josh Heitritter for a 32 yard touchdown pass in the back of the endzone to make it 6-0 with 8:35 to go in the half. Sioux Center was able to get onto the board with a minute left in the first half when Zachary Rozeboom found Eli Hibma from 10 yards out to make 6 each heading into halftime.
It was all Nighthawks in the second half. Kodi Noble took the opening kick off 90 yards untouched to the house to make it 13-6. Following a Warriors fumble, Te Slaa was able to find Heitritter again through the air from 9 yards out to push the score to 20-6. In the fourth quarter, following an Eric Salazar interception, the Nighthawks iced the game with a Noble 4 yard touchdown run to make it 27-6, and that would be your final.
Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley ends their year at 4-5 overall and 4-1 in the district. Sioux Center’s season comes to a close at 5-4, and 3-2 in district play.
