Nilles Joins Defender Basketball

Mallory Nilles, a senior at Boyden Hull High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.

“We are very excited to add Mallory to our 2020 recruiting class. Mallory is a fantastic student and a top notch individual. She has a strong work ethic which can been seen through her play on the floor and outstanding academic achievements. Mallory will certainly be a contributor to the advancement of the Defender Way,” said Dordt basketball coach Bill Harmsen.

Nilles is averaging 10.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game for the Comets one year after claiming first team all-conference and all-district honors. In 2018-19 she averaged 13.0 and 5.3 rebounds per game. She also claimed third-team all-conference accolades as a sophomore. Nilles has scored over 900 career points for the Comets and has been in the lineup since her freshman season.

“I chose to commit to Dordt University because I felt like God was leading me towards something really special at Dordt and it would be a mistake to let this amazing opportunity pass by. I think Dordt will challenge me spiritually, academically and physically which will cause me to grow as a person. I’m incredibly excited,” said Nilles.

Mallory is the daughter of Mark and Paula Nilles of Boyden, Iowa. She plans to study Biology, Chemistry and Spanish at Dordt.
