No. 1 Central Lyon Hangs On In 2A Semifinal

Top ranked Central Lyon survived an upset bid by Pella Christian in the 2A semifinals.

Center Andrew Austin scored 20 points as the Lions escaped with a 56-55 win. Pella Christian’s Tysen De Vries had a baseline jumper bounce off of the rim at the buzzer.

Top seed Central Lyon takes a 23-1 record into the 2A title contest against #3 seed Western Christian who comes in at 22-3.

It was a game that featured 12 lead changes. Pella Christian coach JD Boer.

The potential game winning shot came after a Central Lyon missed free throw and Pella Christian with out a time out. Western Christian Won their semi 79-61 over the #2 seed Roland Story. For the third year in a row the 2A Championship will involve two teams from northwest Iowa.
