Clear Lake, Iowa — Clear Lake hosts Spirit Lake in a Class 2A first round matchup tonight. The 2nd-ranked Lions are 9-0 and back into the playoffs after a one-year hiatus after being edged out of the 2018 playoffs due to the RPI rankings.
Clear Lake coach Jared DeVries says those returning from last year’s squad used that as fuel to prepare for 2019.
Spirit Lake quarterback Brent Scott has passed for almost 2000 yards and rushed for another 600, but DeVries says Scott certainly is not the only player for the Lions defense to focus on.
Spirit Lake coach Josh Bolluyt says he know his team will face a very talented Clear Lake squad tonight.
