Curtis Jones scored 25 points and Iowa State put the game away with a late 16-2 run as the second ranked Cyclones beat ninth ranked Kansas 74-57. Jones finished five-of-six from three point range as ISU moves to 5-0 in the Big 12.
That’s Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger who says defense and rebounding were the keys. The Cyclones outrebounded the Jayhawks 43-33.
The Cyclones played without sophomore forward Milan (me-lunn) Momcilovic (mom-chee-loh-veech) who is out with a non-shooting hand injury.
Kansas shot only 40 percent for the game and coach Bill Self praised Iowa State’s effort.
