The 21st ranked Iowa Hawkeye women crumbled in the fourth quarter and lost at 17th ranked Michigan State. The Spartans used an 18-2 run to erase a nine point Hawkeye lead in a 68-66 win in the Big Ten opener for both. The Hawkeyes had 23 turnovers but still misfired on two chances to take the lead in the final 10 seconds while trailing by one.
That’s Iowa coach Jan Jensen. The Hawkeyes return to action Friday night by hosting Northern Iowa.
