September 9, 2024 – A Historic Victory: Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) women’s soccer team made history by securing their first-ever match win. NCC played Southeast Community College (SCC) and opened the score line midway through the first half when Sophia Schwappach crossed a ball into the box to find Mya Figueroa who was fouled and given a penalty kick. Jenna Pringnitz stepped up to convert the penalty kick to put NCC up 1-0. Minutes later, SCC scored when a ball got played over the top and put past Mariya Garcia. It was a deadlock game going back and forth until the last minute of the game when Ana Reyna received the ball at the edge of the 18-yard box, rocketing a shot in the top corner to put NCC in the lead. NCC women’s soccer made history by winning their first match 2-1.
NCC women’s team will face Dakota County Technical College on Monday, September 16th at 4pm in Rosemount, MN. Stats:

NCC’s Sports Shooting team will compete next on September 14, 2024, at their home range vs. Iowa Lakes Community College at 10:30am. NCC’s home meets are held at the Sibley Gun Club – 5855 200th St. Sibley, IA.
NCC competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).
