Northwestern Signs First 2 Esports Recruits

The Northwestern College Esports program added their first two recruits to their 2019-20 roster this week.

Austin Dixon of George is a League of Legends player who is graduating from George Little Rock High School this spring. He specializes in top lane and middle lane characters and is currently working on getting his rank back up to high level silver. Dixon plans to study either mathematics or physics while at NWC.

Jonah Upton of Sioux Center is an Overwatch player who will graduate from Sioux Center High School this spring. He is mainly a DPS player and has been ranked in low platinum and high gold the past two seasons. Upton plans to study computer science while at NWC.

“We are really excited to have these young men join our Esports team,” commented co-director Dan Swier. “They are both quality people and guys who really want to get better at their respective games.”

The Red Raiders will have a full Esports schedule starting in 2019-20 but are currently competing in events throughout the current semester.
