SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College women’s track and field athlete Kennedy Kramer has been tabbed with Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors for her record-breaking performance at the Dordt Indoor Open, the conference office announced Wednesday morning.
Kramer (Fr., Larchwood, Iowa/West Lyon) broke her own school record in the 400m that she set back in December at the Concordia (Neb.) Early Bird Invite, with a time of 57.57. Beating her time by .29 seconds in just five weeks’ time. Her mark this weekend sits as the best in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as of Wednesday, January 19.
The freshman also was the anchor in the Raiders’ first-place performing 4×400 meter relay team that won the event with a time of 4:26.75 on the campus of Dordt University.
Kramer joins men’s track and field athlete James Gilbert as the other Raider to earn athlete of the week nod this week.
The Raiders will be back in action this Friday, January 21 at the South Dakota State (SDSU) DII Invite in Brookings, S.D. with events beginning at 1:30 p.m.
