NWC 6th, Dordt 9th In Men’s GPAC Soccer Poll

(Sioux City, Iowa) – Hastings College totaled 120 points for first place in the 2019 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Poll. The Broncos garnered ten of twelve first place votes. Hastings has won a league record 19 straight regular season men’s soccer titles.

Morningside was picked second with 105 points and one first place vote, while Briar Cliff and Concordia were tied for third with 91 points.  The final first place vote went to Midland.

In 2018 Hastings won the GPAC regular season title and won the GPAC Postseason Tournament with a record of 11-0 last fall and posted an overall record of 17-3. Morningside was second in the regular season with a record of 9-2 and overall record of 13-7-1.

The 2018 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship will be held November December 2-7, 2019, at the OC Great Park Soccer Stadium in Irvine, California.  The Opening Round matches will be played at campus sites on Saturday, November 17. The GPAC will receive two automatic bids to the NAIA Postseason in 2018.  The NAIA Men’s Soccer Postseason will consist of 46 teams (45 qualifiers and one host berth) playing in a single elimination bracket.

The 2019 GPAC men’s soccer season schedule will consist of eleven (11) league games as all 12 teams will compete for the conference crown. Presentation College joined the GPAC as an affiliate member in men’s and women’s soccer in 2019 and will once again compete in the league this fall.
