The Northwestern College men’s basketball team returns to GPAC play when they host Concordia this weekend at the Bultman Center. Tip-off on Saturday, Jan. 2 is scheduled for 4pm. Northwestern is in sixth place in the GPAC with a 5-4 record, 10-4 overall; Concordia is in fourth place in the league standings at 7-3, 10-5 overall.
The Raiders have lost four straight but leads the all-time rivalry 53-24, dating all the way back to the 1960-61 season. Northwestern lost all three games last year and was defeated by the Bulldogs 77-74 earlier this season.
Last Time vs Concordia, a late Bulldogs surge proved to be the difference in Northwestern’s close loss to Concordia 77-74 on Nov. 14 in Seward, Neb. After an 8-0 run put Northwestern back in front 62-60, Concordia pulled away for good with a 9-3 run, although the Raiders still had a chance to tie it late.
Trent Hilbrands led a balanced Raider scoring effort with 19 points, followed by Alex Van Kalsbeek with 16.
