NWC Volleyball Hosts Grand View In Non-Conference Game

Orange City, Iowa — The Northwestern College Volleyball team hosts No. 11 Grand View Tuesday, March 30th, at 6pm. The Raiders hold a record of 16-3, winning their first game of the spring last Tuesday, March 25th, against Viterbo. The Vikings are 15-3 overall, 1-3 in spring play.

The Raiders hold the advantage in the rivalry, 7-4, dating back to 1994. Northwestern won the last meeting on Aug. 29th, 2019, 3-1.

The Vikings hold a record of 15-3. Since going undefeated in conference play last fall, they have lost three of their four matches this spring and are looking to snap a three game losing streak. Their two most recent losses have come from GPAC teams, Dordt and Concordia.

Currently in her 13th season as head coach of the Grand View women’s volleyball team, Tina Carter has a record of 358-135 (.726). Under her leadership, the Vikings have won seven regular season conference titles and five conference tournament titles. Carter has been named conference Coach of the Year five times, and has led the Vikings to eight of the last nine national tournaments. They return four all-conference player’s from 2019’s roster.

The Red Raiders are looking for another non-conference win to bring their record to 17-3 before beginning the GPAC conference tournament Sat. April 3rd.
