Orab Cross Country Invite Gets New Name And A New Site

Sheldon Iowa — This years running of the Sheldon Orab Cross Country Invite is set for Tuesday September 24th. This year the invite will move to a new location and will have a new name.

Orab Head Cross Country Coach Kyle Zankowski told KIWA Sports in a recent edition of the Sheldon Sports Scene that a relationship has been formed with Rob Roozeboom of Rise Ministries to move the invite to the Risefest grounds in Sheldon.

With the new home for the race comes a new name and a long term goal.

Zankowski adds the course will be very specific in the way it’s layed out.

A fourteen team field is scheduled to compete including teams from BH/RV, Estherville Lincoln Central, MOC-Floyd Valley, Remsen St. Mary’s, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Sioux Center, Sioux City East, Sioux City West, Spencer, Spirit Lake, Storm Lake , Trinity Christian and West Lyon. The first Risefest Cross Country Invite is set to start at 5:00 pm.
