Sheldon Iowa — Sheldon scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the fourth inning and made it hold up for a 2-1 win over George Little Rock Central Lyon Monday night in Sheldon.

The Mustangs scored first in the top of the first inning as Michealla Johnson singled up the middle and later scored on an rbi single to left by Elyse Petersen to give G-LR-CL a 1-0 lead.
Sheldon answered with a run in the second inning as Madison Van Meeteren reached on an error and later scored on an rbi single deep in the hole at third by Brooklyn Grady. After two innings it was tied at 1-1.
The final run of the game came in the fourth as Makenna Kleinhesselink reached on an error and scored on an rbi single to left by Nicole Johnson. The Orabs lead was 2-1 and that would be the final score tho both teams had numerous scoring opportunities the rest of the way.
Nicole Johnson got the win in relief of Emma Weber who went the first 2 innings giving up 2 hits and 1 run. Johnson went the final 5 innings. She scattered 5 hits while throwing shut out ball. Madilyn Matuska took the complete game loss. She gave up just 2 runs on 11 hits and struck out 5.
With the win Sheldon is 5-7 on the year and 4-3 in the conference. The Mustangs are 5-8 for the year and 3-6 in the Siouxland.
Sheldon is off until Thursday when Boyden Hull Rock Valley comes to Orab Field. The Mustangs return to action Tuesday night hosting Harris Lake Park in Rock Rapids.
