Orabs Fall To Dutch In Girls Tournament Basketball

Orange City, Iowa — The Sheldon Orab girls opened class 3A Region 6 tournament play at MOC-FV and would fall to the Dutch 56-30.

The game started out fast paced and both teams would trade buckets and MOC-FV would take an 11-9 lead at the end of the first. The Orabs came out the aggressor early in the second quarter and would lead 16-13. The Dutch changed their defense up and went on a terror from behind the arc draining five – 3-point buckets in the quarter and would take a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way and lead 31-22 going into halftime. The second half defensive pressure would shut down the Orab offense in the second half outscoring the Orabs 14-5 in the third quarter and push their lead to 45-27 and go on to post a 56-30 win to advance in Region 6 bracket play.

The Dutch placed ten players in the scorebook and were led by Jazlin De Haan with 15 points. The Orabs were led in scoring by Makenna Kleinhesselink with 10.
