Patience paid off for Iowa running back Jaziun Patterson.
The redshirt freshman from Florida saw his most extensive action in a win at Iowa State and finished with 86 yards on the ground. His 59-yard run set up a field goal and later scored the Hawkeyes’ first touchdown on a four-yard run.
Patterson feels his style of running is a good compliment to sophomore Kaleb Johnson.
Patterson describes himself as a “down hill” runner.
He also provided a boost to the run game that struggled in the opener. The Hawkeyes finished with 112 yards of rushing against the Cyclones.
