Sheldon, Iowa — Preregistration is available now for an annual event at Northwest Iowa Community College — the Thunder Road Race.
Kristi Landis from NCC is one of the people who help run the event. She gives us a few details.
The race is co-sponsored by the NCC Foundation and KIWA Radio, and this year, both KIWA and NCC are celebrating milestone anniversaries.
KIWA program director Tom Traughber says it’s a special year for KIWA too.
Landis says that as in previous years, they do encourage runners to come in costume.
Traughber tells us what it means to KIWA to co-sponsor the event.
Registration is open now, says Landis.
Landis says that they do give people the option of picking up their race packet the night before the race. She says that can be done at NCC’s Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center on the east side of campus. She says to be sure to keep up-to-date with the race by liking the race’s page on Facebook and on the college web site at nwicc.edu. All proceeds from the race benefit student scholarships.
