Raider Soccer Back in the Top-20 in Newest NAIA Coaches’ Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northwestern College men’s soccer team (15-2-1, 10-1 GPAC) is back inside the top-20 this week, moving up to No. 20, the National Association of Intercollegiate (NAIA) announced Wednesday.

After taking down the Doane University Tigers 4-0 in their only game of the week on Saturday, October 30 to clinch a share of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) men’s soccer title, the squad moved up to No. 20 from No. 21 in the second-to-last poll of the season.

Last night, the Raiders downed Mount Marty 5-0 to clinch their second straight bid to the GPAC Semifinals.

Northwestern has already clinched a berth to the 2021 NAIA national tournament, as the team beat Briar Cliff in their head-to-head matchup back in September. The national office announced the ten opening round host sites earlier today. The Raiders will travel to one of the ten sites, which will be announced at a later date.

The Raiders are set to host No. 4-seed Morningside in the GPAC Semifinals Saturday night, November 6, at 7:00 p.m. from the NWC Soccer Complex.
