After a week of four matches in six days, the Raiders enjoyed a two-day respite this weekend and now prepare to play Mount Marty on the road Tuesday night, Oct. 20. First serve in Yankton, S.D. is set for 7:30pm. Northwestern has won six consecutive matches and moved to within a half game of first place Jamestown with an 8-1 record, 10-1 overall. Mount Marty has lost five in a row and winless in the GPAC at 0-6, 5-11 overall.
Mount Marty has lost five straight matches since a 3-0 sweep against York (Neb.) on Sept. 19 in Yankton, S.D. They have dropped matches to Concordia (2), Morningside, Briar Cliff and the University of Northwestern (Minn.) during the streak. The Lancers are winless in the GPAC (0-6), 5-11 overall; owning a 5-5 record in non-conference play.
Hebenstreit is in his sixth season as the Lancers head coach and returns six starters from a 2019 team that went 0-16 in the GPAC, 8-25 overall. Hebenstreit previously served as the head coach at Norfolk High School for 18 seasons.
