Orange City, Iowa — Josh Fakkema belted a two-out, two-run walkoff home run to beat Dordt 6-5 in game two of a conference doubleheader played Tuesday night under the lights at the Northwestern Baseball Complex. The Red Raiders also won game one 10-5, setting a single game record with six home runs, to complete the sweep.

Northwestern moves to .500 in the conference at 9-9, 15-19 overall. Dordt stumbles to 2-16 in league play, 5-20 overall.
Northwestern scored a run each in the first three innings of the first game but Dordt erupted for five in the top of the fourth. Down 3-1, the Defender’s Chris Schrieber hit a grand slam to clear the bases to give Dordt the lead, but Northwestern shifted momentum with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning with two outs on a homerun and added two more runs each in the fifth and sixth innings for the final of 10-5.
In game 2 Dordt grabbed a 2-0 lead when Chris Schrieber doubled down the line and then scored on an error.
Northwestern got a run back in the bottom of the inning on two hits. The Red Raiders followed with three more in the third inning for a 4-2 lead that stood until a three run sixth inning for Dordt.
Trailing 5-4 and with a runner at second with two outs for Northwestern, Josh Fakkema drove a 1-0 pitch over the centerfield fence for his first career home run and a walkoff win 6-5.
