Remsen St. Mary’s Rolls to 8 Player Title

Cedar Falls Iowa —  Remsen St Mary’s wrapped up a 12-0 season with a 48-0 win over Fremont Mills in the 8 Player Championship at the UNI Dome on Thursday. The Hawks spread out the scoring with a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. They put 13 more on the board for a 27-0 halftime lead. A pair of third quarter scores and one more in the fourth added up to the 48-0 win.

Quarterback Blaine Harpenau led the way with 222 yard of total offense and had a hand in 5 touchdowns. He ran for a pair of touchdowns on 12 attempts for 85 yard. Brenden Fisch scored on a 31 yard run with Levi Waldschmitt going in from 4 yards out.

Harpenau enjoyed an efficient passing day going 8 of 9 for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns. Damen Brownmiller was on the receiving end of a pair of touchdown passes with the other going to Ryan Willman.

The Hawks defense held Fremont Mills to  119 yards of total offense while throwing the shutout. The Remsen St Mary’s offense put together 236 yards of total offense in the ballgame working with a number of short field provided by the defense.

The Hawks finish unbeaten at 12–0 while Fremont Mills ends the year at 8-2.
